 Breakfast Club Celebrates All Things Green

Description: With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, the Breakfast Club Celebrates All Things Green with an additional focus on environmental awareness.

Guest speaker is the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie. We've also invited our friends from the Belin and Quinnipiac Chambers of Commerce because as neighbors we all share the New Haven to Hartford to Springfield line and other resources in the I-91 Corridor.

Seasons Federal Credit Union is the CT's First Financial Institution to be LEED's Certified and will receive our Shining Star Award.

 17th Annual United Way/NFL Players Weekend

Friday, March 12, 2010 through Saturday, March 13, 2010

Description: NFL Players are coming to town!! 17th Annual United Way/NFL Players Weekend. Join us for these GREAT events that support the many important programs that are funded by the United Way in our communities of Meriden and Wallingford.

Friday - Silent/Live Auction Night, 6 - 9:30 p.m. at Zandri’s Stillwood Inn, 1074 S. Colony Rd., Wallingford. Have the opportunity to mingle with over 20 NFL players from the Pittsburgh Steelers, N.E. Patriots, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles including NFL Ravens QB Joe Flacco. Purchase some great NFL memorabilia, enjoy delicious food & have fun! $55 per person/$500 per table of 10 guests.

Saturday - Youth Clinic, Noon - 3 p.m. at Wallingford Parks & Rec Department, 6 Fairfield Boulevard, Wallingford. Youth between the ages of 8-14 yrs.can spend the afternoon with NFL Players. $50 per youth/spaces limited-preregistration mandatory! All participants will receive Reebok gear!

Saturday - "Bowl-with-the-Pros", 6 - 9:30 p.m. at Colony Lanes, 600 S. Colony Rd., Wallingford. NFL player on each sponsored lane/$750 per lane. Autographs available with wristband purchase.

 Healthy Eating 101 A Monday Night Refresher Presentation

Description: As part of the spring Monday Night Refresher Series, the Meriden Health Department will be hosting a presentation on healthy eating 101. The presentation will be held on March 15 from 6:00-7:00pm. This program will review easy ways to reduce calorie intake while still enjoying your favorite foods and how to become more mindful of the food we eat. Attendees will receive free fast food and every day nutrition guides and healthy snacks will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Description: "My City Kitchen" with Kashia Cave invites all children between 6 to 17 years old to take part in the "Healthy Cooking With Kids" program. Ms. Cave will be presenting a cooking demonstration which will show children how to make healthy choices in food that are delicious. Receipes and samples will be available at the end of program. Description: It's time to shake up your workout and try something fun for a good cause - an Indoor Triathalon to benefit the United Way of Meriden & Wallingford's 2010 Live United Campaign. It only takes fifteen minutes each in the pool, on the treadmill, and on the spinning bike. You can do it! There will be divisions for youth, men, women, and seniors.
